Delia Sherman: Hello, my name is Delia Sherman. My parents named me Cordelia, which means daughter of the sea, in Irish. When I went to college, I shortened it to Delia, which means Delos, the Greek island where Artemis and Apollo were born. Both meanings please the historian in me.
