Faridah Àbíké-Íyímídé: Hi, my name is Faridah Àbíké-Íyímídé, and I really love my name. My mom named me, and it means "precious" or "unique" in Arabic. It's a Muslim name. And I've always really loved my name. I've been very attached to it. It's a really big part of my identity, and often it does get mispronounced. One of my friends' mums calls me Florida. Another thing that I get called a lot is Friday. And I can't even get started on my last name. That's always butchered, but when people do get my name right, it's really, really nice to hear because I really love my name.
