Mark Oshiro: Hello. My name is Mark Oshiro. The proper Japanese pronunciation is actually Oshero. I'm often given funny looks because my last name is a rather common Japanese last name, yet I am not.
I am actually adopted. I am what is called a trans-racial adoptee, as my parents are a different ethnic and racial group than I am. So, I'm Latinx, but I have a Japanese last name.
