Sandra V. Feder: Hi, my name is Sandra V. Feder. Although I always introduce myself as Sandra, some people assume I go by the common nickname for Sandra, which is Sandy, but I've always been a Sandra. I use my middle initial V as in Valerie, to make sure people can find me and my books when they're looking. That's because when I started writing, there was another author with the exact same name, Sandra Feder. My last name Feder is spelled F as in Frank, E as in Edward, D as in David, E as in Edward, R as in Robert. We pronounce it FEED-er as if there are two Es in the first part of the word. The name is from German or Yiddish, and means feather or quill. It was a name that was taken by a scribe or someone who used a feather quill to write things down. So it suits me well as a children's book writer.
