Dina Nayeri: Hello. My name is Dina Nayeri. My name is Persian. It comes from Iran, though my first name is actually Jewish. It comes from the Torah. Although my family isn't Jewish, my parents heard the name randomly one day in Iran and they liked it and so that's how I got my first name. I haven't heard of very many Iranians who have that first name. My last name is a very typical Iranian name. Nayeri. It appears often in many of the cities that I visited in Iran. I've not always gone by my maiden name, but now I've gone back to it because it's more authentically neat in terms of my background and heritage.
