Nina lives in two homes. Dad is in one house. Mom is in another. “It used to be different. I used to just have one home with Mom and Dad both in it. Cat had her basket under the stairs and my hamster’s cage was by the window.” Mom and Dad were happy. But then they weren’t and the house became too small, so now there are two homes. Nina can tell that Mom is distracted, and Dad is sad. And when she’s with one parent, she’s thinking about the other.
