Young Prince Tebriel, badly injured by his father's murderer, is nursed by a colony of intelligent otters, until he is strong enough to seek out the legendary singing dragon and avenge his father's death. In The Ivory Lyre (1987; 1988) Tebriel and his telepathic dragon, Seastrider, join the resistance against the evil ones bent on taking over their world. In The Dragonbards (1988; pap., 1989) Teb and the other dragonbards challenge the dark lord Quazelzeg and his army of the unliving. Recommended.
