Douglas Florian displays humor both visually and verbally in another collection of poems and paintings that follow the format established in his four earlier volumes: beast feast (1994), on the wing (1996), in the swim (1997), and Insectlopedia (1998), all published by Harcourt. Florian pairs short, pithy poems with delightful full-page color paintings of his subjects, which range here from aardvark to zebra, otter to lemur, tapir to tiger.
