for But Excuse Me That Is My Book by Lauren Child
From The United States Board on Books for Young People (USBBY)
Charlie’s little sister, Lola, is dismayed when she discovers that her favorite library book, Beetles, Bugs, and Butterflies, has been checked out by another girl. Not quite understanding the concept of borrowing, Lola is not interested in another book. Charlie finally persuades her to try Cheetahs and Chimpanzees, and she ultimately decides that it is “probably the most best book in the whole wide world . . .” (n.p.). The photo and cartoon collage artwork is charming. Charlie and Lola also star in an ani mated television series on the Disney Channel. The text is based on the script written by Bridget Hurst and Carol Noble; illustrations are from the TV animation produced by Tiger Aspect (t.p. verso). 2006 School Library Journal Best Book. mjw
